This high performance X-Pipe replaces the OEM catalytic converters with 200-cell HJS Sport Cats for improved power and sound. By optimizing air flow, your Carrera will sound and perform even better than it already does.

SOUND:

With free flowing cats and an investment cast X-Pipe this system will give a nice increase in volume while also smoothing out the exhaust note of your flat 6.

POWER:

We thoroughly dyno tested this system and after many revisions we were able to design a system that adds 16 whp and 19 ft/lbs of torque.

FEATURES:

  • Fits all Porsche 993 Carrera vehicles (1994-1998)

  • Includes German-manufactured 200-cell HJS Emissions technology OBD2 Sport Catalytic Converters for improved power and sound

  • Adds 12 whp and 19 ft-lbs of torque

  • Saves 8 lbs from the rear of the vehicle

  • Constructed from CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel for maximum quality, performance and durability

  • Simply bolt-on installation; no cutting or welding required

  • A great OEM replacement option if OEM parts cannot be found

  • Includes all required hardware and gaskets

  • Constructed from mandrel bent T304L stainless steel

  • Simple DIY bolt-on installation, no cutting or welding required

  • All Fabspeed performance products are backed by the Fabspeed Lifetime Warranty

NOTES:

  • The original factory ball-joint clamps must be re-used when installing Fabspeed exhaust products on all 993 Carrera vehicles.

  • The 993 Carrera Sportcat X-Pipe can be ordered with either Bischoff style flanges or Gillet style flanges.  Vehicles manufactured from 1994 through mid-1996 require Bischoff style flanges, while vehicles manufactured from mid-1996 through 1998 require Gillet style flanges.  Please refer to the above photo and verify on your vehicle before ordering.

Why We Choose HJS Catalytic Converters:

HJS German imported catalytic converters are made from some of the highest grade materials you can find in a catalytic converter. This yields high performance gains and longevity so it wont deteriorate over time like lower grade catalytic converters. These catalytic converters flow up to 93-95% of a straight pipe in most applications. The benefit is that you get the "straight pipe sound" while still being able to provide enough emissions scrubbing to prevent a check engine light.

DISCLAIMER: This product removes the OEM catalytic converters from the vehicle, and as such, is strictly intended for closed track events and off-road use only. This product contains a High-Flow Sport Catalytic Converter solely intended for track and race cars as it is NOT California Air Resources Board Certified and not EPA certified. You are hereby informed and warned to check your local, state, and federals laws before buying and installing these or any aftermarket parts to be sure whether usage is in violation. All installation-risk and use-risk is borne by the end-user and installer of these parts.

    PORSCHE 993 CARRERA SPORT CAT X-PIPE (1994-1998)

Absolutely fantastic product! Not to mention service! I ordered the incorrect flange type at first and the great folks (Ted) at Fabspeed we’re able to swap out the correct parts so I could get the x-PPE installed. This makes all the difference! The sound is perfect and it is exactly what was missing! I already had fister stage 3 exhaust but the sport x-pipe makes my 993 sound like a GT2! Thanks fabspeed for making a fantastic product!

    Love it

Today we installed the second set of fabspeed scxp, this one had standard stock mufflers. the car really came out sounding fantastic! The sound changed significantly, without going crazy. More subdued than stage I + scxp but still sounded like an awesome machine. little bit of a deeper tone to it. I got to test drive my car today as well and it was a blast. windows up, cabin noise seemed the same, no droning, plenty quiet to hold a conversation. Anecdotally, it did feel like the RPMs wound up more freely and it sounded great. This was the 3rd sport cat cross pipe ive installed in about 3 years on 3 different 993s... im always impressed with the workmanship of this product, particularly the fasteners and hardware they include are top notch.

What a quality product. I'm absolutely delighted. They are beautifully made, fitting them was easy. They sound great and I can feel the power increase.

    Test drive report

Posted by Greg C on 18th Mar 2016

My first impression is while parked in the garage, it barked like a rabid dog and then settled quickly into a nice low tone idle and burble. Didn't hear much difference compared to the FDIIs alone albeit there was a slight gain in volume. In my small garage everything sounds loud. I started off for a 20 minute fuel and breakfast romp and during the first mile I didn't notice much difference in cockpit and became anxious for some feedback. Then after the next 10 miles I had an ear to ear grin. As I opened it up on some back roads, the lost ballast in the ass and the "seat of the pants" perception of some extra horses made it clear there was some sensory feedback I hadn't realized before. Let me say that I'm no way in the class of you track guys but it felt like the car had a more linear feeling to the increased umph. Then I headed to the liquor store at a quiet outdoor mall and there were a a lot people taking in the nice day. I got a bunch smiles and thumbs ups as I went to park so I said to myself I guess it doesn't sound all that ridiculously obnoxious. When I got home and left it idle, I recorded the sound on my iPhone and on playback it just sounded very loud and amplified. Seems it also doesn't pickup the lower tones. My purely subjective evaluation is that the cockpit sound is very, very good and is richer than FDIIs alone.

X-Pipe and 200 Cell Sport Cats

Posted by Mark on 18th Mar 2016

With the Fister Stage 2's it sounds raspier but drone is not an issue at all. IMO it sounds INCREDIBLE but that is just from occasional bursts with a barrier or wall next to me while driving. The Butt dynometer definitely says the car feels lighter which translates to more HP based on the pull felt. Further driving will provide more feedback but IMO there is definitely a power improvement. Many thanks to John at Fabspeed for this, I could not be happier

    Fister I and Fabspeed X-Pipe

Posted by Jim B on 18th Mar 2016

When you hit the gas, wow!! Feels like a bit more HP, and it hammers away with a throaty growl that literally clears the road ahead of you. Could not be more pleased with this mod, and a big thanks to Fabspeed,

    Installed yesterday

Posted by Chris V on 18th Mar 2016

The sound with my Fister I mufflers is perfect for me, added a bit more growl so the total package sound is probably closer to Fister II now. As mentioned before, the butt dyno say better power beyond 3-4K rpm and seems to pull stronger all the way to red line whereas before it was flat on the upper end. Huge grin during the road test so yes it was worth it!

    WOW

Posted by John L on 18th Mar 2016

Installed sport cats yesterday to go with fister iiis already on the car. WOW what an angry noise. Completely different tone from the fister iiis by themselves. Probably too loud... but going to enjoy terrorizing every tunnel around with the ludicrous noise from downshifts for a month before I look at tamer muffler options.

    1998 993 Cab Sportcat X-Pipe

I recently installed your 993 x-pipe sport cats to mate up with my Max flows and what a tremendous difference it made. Great sound thru out all ranges of throttle. The response is great with acceleration. Worth every penny! I feel like I have a completely different car. Thank you.
