    Maxflo Perf with premuffler

Posted by Charles Rahm on 5th Jan 2020

My 81 911SC had a horrible drone from 3-4K rpm due to a cat bypass pipe and stock, probably heavily worn muffler. I shopped around and decided the Fabspeed made the right noises for me so I ordered the Maxflo and the 2 into 1 premuffler. Installation took 2 hours. My system came off very easily. Quality and workmanship of the kit are top notch. Everything bolted together well. A little adjustment and looks nice. The startup sound is awesome and it settles into a nice deep, solid sporty sound. The noise inside the cabin is not intrusive at all. The drone is gone. I have been accelerating with the window down to hear the very cool sound. At steady throttle or with the windows up, the system is very civilized. I’m very pleased.

Throaty, no drone, and great build quality

I was looking for a mellow exhaust for my '85 911 that didn't drone, and just gave a slightly deeper sound, and this fit the bill perfectly. Paired with the sport cat it's quiet, with a bit more rumble at idle and bit fatter, throatier sound through the revs. If anything it could be a hair louder or have a bit more bark, but if I wanted that I'd probably just delete the muffler completely. This is a great sounding system that you could drive miles with and not end up with a headache :) Fantastic build quality as well. The welds are perfect.
