After constantly wondering when the OEM 430 headers were going to fail, even after the recall Mk.II headers were installed, I went with the Fabspeed Performance Headers and blankets. They are mated to the OEM sport exhaust. Love the sound, the increased performance and the lack of anxiety that seemed to always be in the background. Nicely engineered product.
I purchased and installed the headers on my F430 myself over the Christmas holidays, and I am more than happy with the results. The car just runs better, feels more powerful, and I think it sounds better—only slightly louder than stock. The quality is much better than the original Ferrari exhaust manifolds, which is obvious just based on appearance. I also went with the heat insulation bags—keeps the engine compartment cooler. I had to replace my manifolds due to cracks—and they were the “improved” MK2’s. Now that I know how much better the car runs, I’d replace if needed or not! I’d also like to add that Travis was great to work with—knowledgeable, and got the headers to me much faster than planned.
I just finished having a pair of Fabspeed headers installed, along with the Fabspeed carbon air boxes and BMC Filters. I retained the stock secondary cat's, as I drive the car a bunch, and did not want it to be too loud. The UCU's were also sent to EVOMS for a specific file for this motor with headers. I already had the new Tubi Evo style exhaust in the car for while (with valves).... All I can say is WOW, the car really woke up, 2nd gear rolling , and nailing the throttle, it will light the wheels up, feels quicker then the Scud coup I owned, for sure. It pulls VERY strong up top too, reminds me of the 430 GT car I drove at Daytona in the 24 Hour this year where the thing just never ran out of rev's and speed on the top end....really impressive for sure. I am trying to find a 16m to do some rolling start races with just to compare, I am very curious to see where it stack's up (not literally), lol. Thanks Fabspeed for the amazing craftsmanship of the headers and air boxes, and thanks EVOMS, as the thing just riiiippps through gears.
I've been driving the 430 for a few weeks now with your headers and cats, and thought I would share some feedback. Overall, wow. I am very, very happy. What a sound it makes, and what a response from the loud pedal. I would say it feels like a completely new car, but to be fair my point of reference before having the work done (which included ignition harness and fuel pump work) wasn't the best it could be to start with. First off, sound. On cold start up, it sounds exactly like a Challenge Car. And I have been around enough of them in the garages at Daytona and Sebring to be able to say that with certainty. I heard from some of the sales and the service guys at Ferrari of CF that when the guys started it up in the shop once everything was put together, they honestly thought it was one of the race cars firing up. I have taken to starting it with the garage door closed just to avoid annoying the neighbors too much. Once things settle down after idling for a minute, the sound settles into a fairly low pitched growl, pretty raspy, and with a bit of a resonant drone below 3K. That's most likely attributable to the X-Ost box in combination with the increased flow from your parts. When I get out of town and find a nice straight deserted stretch of road, winding it up through the gears produces an absolutely glorious noise!! Worth every penny and then some. And again, the throttle response is sharp and immediate. To be completely honest, the whole package is a bit louder than I would really like for in town driving, but on the open road, and for the track (which is where we are going next month) I would say it is a completely acceptable trade off. I didn't install the O2 extenders. I decided to wait and see if a CEL came on or not. Well, yes it did. I am getting P0420 and P0430 - catalyst efficiency below threshold - but I can live with that. I have a Bluetooth OBD2 reader linked to my phone, so I can check the codes any time, anywhere. So long as it is only those two, I have no problem just clearing them and forgetting about it. Next time I'm doing any work on it, I'll install the extenders and see what difference that makes. A word on quality. I inspected the headers when they arrived and was impressed with the workmanship. I wasn't in town to see the cats delivered, but assume the same quality. In fact, the mechanic that installed all of them made a point of telling me when I picked the car up that "everything was a great quality build and a perfect fit. Everything just bolted straight up with no issues at all." So count me as one satisfied customer. Feel free to quote me. I am not shy about telling folks at the local C&C my thoughts either. Thanks again, and all the best for 2016!
WOW. That is about all that I can say...I had a set of these installed by my dealer on my 2007 F430 when the exhaust manifolds went (at 6,200 miles). First of all, the customer service that I got from the Fabspeed crew was fantastic AND now that I have had a chance to get 100 miles on the car with the Fabspeed headers...what an amazing difference. The engine feels much freer revving and definitely has more power off of the line. If you are thinking of replacement headers for your F430, Fabspeed AND their product is top notch!!
