Great bump in power and sound.

I installed my sportcat this past weekend. I did it on ramps and took my time and in 3 hours it was done. IF you're a decent weekend mechanic, you may curse a few times but will get it in. If not or just don't want the bother, it's not very expensive for a shop to do it.
I love this thing. I can feel a little more mid-push for sure. The sound has really picked up. A stock M2 sounds great. With this thing, you can hear the turbo a bit more and it really gives it more of a growl and scream. I've had my car for about 8 months and while I'd gotten a ton of compliments on it, never about the sound. In the past 2 days since the install, I had a guy track me down @ my desk at work to tell me he was behind me the day before and he had to tell me how sick the car sounded. On my way to work today, a couple of guys in a worked Mustang GT pulled up and told me how great it sounded. That NEVER happened before the SC install.
I'm stock besides having a Dinan sport tuner, so this thing is the only exhaust change I've made.
My buddy says I don't know how good it really sounds because I'm always in the car. It seems he's right.
I did this for the few extra ponies, but the sound seems to be a huge plus on top of those. If you're on the fence, get off it. You won't be sorry.

Perfect fitment, great welds, no CEL, great sound and performance! Would definitely recommend this cat!
thanks to the guys at Fabspeed they make an excellent quality product that rocks!!!

Installed the Fabspeed 200 cell sport cat yesterday...my car has the Dinantronics Stage 1 installed (I am saving up for the Dinan big turbo + Intercooler ). The improvement in power with the Dinantronics alone was a mild boost in power in the mid range made more impressive by adding 94 Octane to the mix. The Fabspeed sport cat made for a holy shit bump in power AND sound!!!
So thanks to the guys at Fabspeed they make an excellent quality product that rocks!!!...and second, I would suggest adding the sport cat as a stand alone prior to other changes to the exhaust system as it now has an even louder, deeper and IMHO more awesome exhaust note. For me, there is absolutely no need to mod the exhaust beyond this...plus I like the stealth mode.
Downpipe is LIT!!

At first I was hesitant to get the downpipe because I didn't want to lose the stock sound feel. However the changes made the exhaust not as tight and now more loose and deep which is better and makes it sound more exotic. All the reviews here are true and on point. The pops and crackles are now easily manipulated as it's easy to make it growl when you want it to. You can feel the turbo breathing easier and spooling sooner and more efficiently. You feel the power and torque more and car feels like it's ready to go on tap at any moment. Very impressive and highly recommend. M2 being stock is already tons of fun and adding this is like icing on the cake.
The car sounds insane in track mode
Posted by Steve on 11th May 2017
I dyno'd 393bhp at the wheels, I'm running Fabspeed Sport Cat, ITG panel filter and MPE.
The car sounds insane in track mode, not far off a V10 Huracan when nailing the M2 in long tunnels.
Turbo is eager and ready to go all the time, car is really pulling hard at 3,000rpm and beyond. A little rev time when stationary at the lights in track mode is smile inducing - car has really transformed in to an animal.
Having Wagner IC, ER charge pipes, PureTurbo's Inlet pipe and new DV+ fitted to end of week so hope to break the 400bhp zone pretty comfortably.
I would highly recommend

I have recently gone with this set up and it is exceptionally good .
The sound over stock is much more aggressive and you can hear the turbo spool much more .
The less restrictive cat is noticable immediately
I would highly recommend
This is how the car should have come from BMW

Just drove home from the installer and all I can say is that this is how the car should have come from BMW. The throttle response and spin up of the engine even before turbo is faster and sound is more powerful. The turbo spools quicker and the slingshot of the turbo kicking in is more aggressive. I understand that a tune is usually considered necessary to get the most out of such mods, but for right now I am enjoying this thoroughly.
Highly recommend the sport cat as a mod to any M2 owner and believe the pure inlet is only making life easier for our turbo to breathe. Thanks to Fabspeed for making this product and Mike from Extreme for helping me get mine.
Thank you Bobby and everyone at Fabspeed!

Great experience from beginning to end!! The craftsmanship and quality of the sport cat is unreal. I can definitely feel the bump in torque, the car pulls noticeably harder and sounds amazing. Perfect compromise between loud at WOT and not too loud during regular load. Highly recommend it! Best mod for the money.
Fab Speed SportCat review

I ordered mine towards the end of last year. Welds and overall impression out of the box was very positive. Shipping was right when promised. Packaging/bubble wrap was over-kill . I was anxious to get her installed, but life got in the way.
I finally got it installed by the local muffler shop yesterday (Friday). 90 minutes or so for them. Dude said it wasn't too tough, but probably not something most folks would like to do on their backs.
Car is a June 2016 build. I'm running Dinan Stage 2. Had it from 1,200ish miles until now (about 11,000 miles). No other mods.
First impression was I couldn't tell anything. But, it was pouring rain, obviously super wet out, and I'm running crappy Blizzak LM60 winters all around. Took her out for some driving today and that impression changed. When routine driving, there was no discernible sound difference, which is great for me. The last thing I wanted was annoying most of the time. The performance exhaust on my previous 335 droned . This morning, I noticed a little extra sound when my right foot got pretty heavy. Then I realized I was still in comfort mode. Bumped her to sport and there was an obvious change. Put the window down and it's far more noticeable. I can't say my butt dyno notices much, but my ears do. I did notice what might be a smoother transition from 2nd gear to 3rd, but that could just be an artifact of this being novel. She growls nicely when I jump on her. Even the wife noticed (I hadn't told her about the mod).
I start her up inside the garage and do not sense any smell at all. No CEL either. For me, it's a win. Nice and quiet for daily driving, then she gets serious when I ask her to be naughty. Just how I want her to be.
