Introducing Our New Partner, Kali Moldavon!
If you’re in the LA car scene you’ve probably seen Kali out and about in her 718 GT4. Between hanging out with Alex Choi to helping host Nu Rally Kali is all over the LA Automotive scene. She’s a true car enthusiast through and through which is why we were thrilled to partner with her on her 718 GT4 build.
Of course, we were eager to get to know Kali’s automotive story a bit better, so we sat down with her to ask a few questions!
Q: Where are you from, what got you into cars, and how did it all come about for you?
A: I’m from Southern California, born and raised. I always joke that my parents wanted a boy. My dad brought home his dream car when I was about 6 years old. (I was so mad at first because I wanted the SUV with the new massage mode that had just come out for my 30-second ride to school each morning lol). He took me for a ride that night and it was game over.
I started helping out at his office just answering phones and filing when I was about 14 to start saving up for my first car. During lunch, we’d order in and binge-watch Jay Leno’s garage together. I will say my dad inspired my love for cars, but I get my driver’s skills from my mom. They are both so supportive of my automotive endeavors and are my biggest cheerleaders. It’s something that has brought us even closer and I love that about our family’s dynamic.
Q: What cars are currently in your garage?
A: I recently sold two of the cars, but I still currently have the 2020 Porsche 718 GT4, 2020 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon, 1961 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II (bought for my mom), and the M2’s replacement is currently on its way!
Q: What is your dream car?
A: I love so many different cars all for different reasons it’s hard to choose just one. The next dream car would be a GT3rs or 600lt. Out of the hypercars, I would say a Pagani Huayra BC- they’re literally art. But I would also absolutely love to own a 993 Turbo one day.
Q: What is your go-to mod?
A: My go-to mod performance-wise, the first thing I do is headers/downpipes. Cosmetically, I love to wrap my cars and be able to switch up the look every few months when I get bored haha!
Q: What is your guilty pleasure?
A: My guilty pleasure is easily the same as probably anyone reading this, buying cars I don’t need, and then getting parts for said cars I don’t need. - I also get way too excited over detailing supplies.
Q: What advice would you give to young car enthusiasts?
A: My favorite thing to tell anyone who is trying to get into the car scene, no matter their age, is to get involved in as many events or groups as possible! There are so many amazing people within this community that are wonderful connections and you can learn so much from others. Especially for the girls that reach out to me and are hesitant about joining a make-dominated niche- I always try to encourage them to just get out there!
