Positions Available

+ Director of Operations

Fabspeed is seeking an experienced Director of Operations for our exciting and fast-paced design, engineering, and world-class manufacturing facility in Fort Washington, PA. The ideal candidates should be passionate about pursuing excellence in everything they do. Fabspeed is the worldwide leader in exotic car performance with nearly 30 Years of EXCELLENCE in designing, developing and manufacturing the highest caliber exhaust and intake systems for automotive enthusiasts.

Responsibilities 

  • Design and implement plans to effectively use material and labor resources to achieve production, quality, and profit objectives.
  • Oversee procurement of raw materials, components and equipment required for manufacturing and shipment of goods.
  • Lead all site based continuous improvement efforts through the use of LEAN tools (Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, TPM, Visual Management, etc.)
  • Build and maintain the foundation for continuous improvement by ensuring the effective functioning of transformation activities aligned to a Lean Operating System.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and continuous improvement (Kaizen) leader for the company and shape a company culture centered around continuous improvement in the pursuit of Operational Excellence
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing direct labor costs and improving output and quality using tools of lean manufacturing.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving supplier performance, controlling costs, and improving product quality
  • Assist in the development of the short term and long-range strategies, plans, and budgets based on company goals and growth objectives.
  • Lead and mentor direct reports, building their management and decision-making skills, continuously promoting a culture that is passionate about success, and emphasizing respect, trust and empathy in the workplace.
  • Oversee hiring and training of production employees to ensure workforce competence
  • Eliminate bottlenecks and develop culture of accountability and improvement  
  • Lead efforts to develop and maintain a comprehensive safety program that achieves 100% OSHA compliance and continuously improves the safety of the workplace.

Required Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Business or equivalent (10 years manufacturing leadership experience)
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Operations/Lean Management, TPS
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in automotive parts and/or metal fabrication industry
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification 
  • Experience working with, and utilizing ERP systems to drive operations
  • Significant experience implementing Lean principles in manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide innovative solutions, with a hands-on approach
  • Proven success designing, implementing, communicating, and meeting KPI goals, including reducing supply chain costs, improving through-put, shortening cycle time, and improving inventory turns.
  • Expert business knowledge and proficiency in common software platforms.
  • Excellent proven communication skills

+ MIG/TIG Welder

Fabspeed is seeking a talented MIG/TIG Welder-Fabricators for our exciting and fast-paced design, engineering, and world-class manufacturing facility in Fort Washington, PA. Experienced applicants should be excited about fabricating metal using our specialized equipment to create exhaust and intake systems for Porsche, Ferrari, Mclaren, Lamborghini, and more Exotic cars. The ideal candidate should be passionate about pursuing excellence in everything they do. Fabspeed proudly operates with almost 30 Years of EXCELLENCE. 

The MIG / TIG Welder is responsible for: 

  • MIG and TIG welding of thin-gauge 304 stainless steel tubing, brackets, flanges, bungs, catalytic converters, endcaps, castings, pipe-bends, and assemblies.
  • High-volume production output to be monitored against production standards.
  • Create finished goods to high-quality specifications, presenting 100% accuracy to the integrity of welds, as well as cosmetic standards.
  • Shaping, fitting, and welding of raw materials as per our manufacturing jigs, work instructions, and templates
  • Maintaining and securing all manufacturing jigs, tooling, and equipment
  • Cutting, grinding, drilling, shaping, and de-burring components utilizing hand tools, basic power tools, drill presses, plasma cutters, grinders, belt sanders, pipe expanders, pipe reducers, flaring equipment, measuring tools, and templates, etc. as needed to boost production flow.
  • Executing all work assigned in a timely and accurate manner against time and quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Beyond the normal activities as covered above, the candidate is also responsible for: 

  • Company event attendance
  • Maintaining a neat workspace and keeping shared spaces clean and tidy
  • Exhibiting professional behaviors and adhering to Company policies and practices
  • Embracing Lean Methodology, maximizing production, minimizing costs and waste
  • Providing feedback and ideas for continuous improvements that can be made to better our process, equipment, or tools.

Accountabilities

The success of the role can be quantified by:

  • Quality, accuracy, and volume of work, as measured by expected Company standards.  
  • Personal drive and work-ethic, operating with an enthusiastic attitude. 

The candidate we are looking to hire must possess these qualities:

  • Able to read, understand and follow assembly instructions and prints.
  • Have a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Capable to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a group environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, reliable and have a great attitude.
  • Proficiency with metalworking tools and providing preventative maintenance.

Accountant/Bookkeeper

Fabspeed is seeking an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper for our exciting and fast-paced design, engineering, and world-class manufacturing facility in Fort Washington, PA. The ideal candidates should be passionate about pursuing excellence in everything they do. Fabspeed proudly operates with almost 30 Years of EXCELLENCE.

The Accounting/Bookkeeping role is responsible to:

  • Manage all accounting: AP/AR/GL using our systems software (Odoo)
  • Banking deposits and check processing
  • Collaborate with third-party CPA and Tax Specialist
  • Present monthly reports, including Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements
  • Understand and keep up with new trends and regulations in the business
  • Perform reconciliations
  • Support company budget measures and control of spending
  • Act as a liaison between vendors and involved company departments to resolve issues
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness
  • Collaborate with key staff to ensure the accuracy and clarity of invoicing, billing, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

+ Purchasing & Inventory Manager

 

Fabspeed is seeking an experienced Purchasing & Inventory Manager for our exciting and fast-paced design, engineering, and world-class manufacturing facility in Fort Washington, PA. The ideal candidates should be passionate about pursuing excellence in everything they do. Fabspeed proudly operates with almost 30 Years of EXCELLENCE.

The Purchasing & Inventory Manager is responsible for: 

  • Complete purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders into Odoo, expecting deliveries, and verifying all transactions.
  • Procure all components, parts, equipment, services, and shop consumables required for the operation
  • Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required. 
  • Monitor supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications; maintaining appropriate files and records of meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that supplier is aware of their performance.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement-related problems. 
  • Regularly run shortage reports and ensure that orders are placed for all required materials and components, maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with targeted inventory goals and as set by management.
  • Understand and keep up with new trends and regulations in the business
  • Negotiate with outside vendors to secure the most advantageous terms, examine and re-evaluate existing vendors, pricing, and contracts
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness
  • Collaborate with key staff to ensure the clarity of part specifications and expectations of the company
  • Control spending and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs. 
  • Assist with Inventory Management of all parts, components, products, scrap, containers, boxes, etc.
  • Investigate cost savings of all materials, parts, and shop consumables regularly.
  • Other duties as assigned.
