The perfect compliment to Fabspeed's 996 GT3 performance upgrades, this high performance intake plenum from Innovative Pro Design provides substantial power gains by increasing the efficiency and flow of the engine's air intake system. As with all GT3's, power improvements are very difficult to develop because of Porsche's fantastic out-of-the-box design and development on these performance minded machines. The GT3 engine was specifically developed to deliver power where it's needed on the track, way up high in the rev range. The IPD Plenum compliments that power by delivering additional horsepower throughout the entire power band, especially in the mid range where it's most needed.
FITMENT NOTE: Fits all 996 GT3 Mark II Vehicles (1999-2005)
The 996 GT3 Mark II IPD Plenum provides an additional 24 horsepower at the wheels, enhancing the already ultimate Porsche driving experience. The 996 GT3 Mark II Plenum is specifically designed to accommodate the larger 997 GT3 82mm throttle body (additional purchase required).
The combination of the patented Y design plenum and larger throttle body make the 996 GT3 Mark II IPD Plenum the ultimate performance upgrade for the ultimate performance Porsche.
The improved IPD intake design allows for smoother, less turbulent and more efficient air flow resulting in impressive power and torque gains for Porsche driving enthusiasts.
Installation of the new IPD DFI Plenum is relatively straight forward and can be installed by mechanically inclined DIY customers although IPD strongly recommends installation be performed by a trained and qualified Porsche technician.
Superior and more efficient design over the factory intake.
The IPD Plenums are products of efficiency that simply improve intake air flow and increase air velocity. The “Y” shape design and dimpled interior surface make air flow more laminar (less turbulent) dramatically improving power and torque across the entire RPM band. Smoother more optimized intake air flow will improve the performance of any engines. The more efficiently an engine breaths, the more efficiently it produces power.
NOTE: If you are upgrading your throttle body along with the IPD Plenum, you may need to visit a dealership to have them perform a manual throttle body adaptation process. Some customers have reported that installing the throttle body and plenum while the battery is disconnected results in the car performing an adaptation check once the battery is reconnected, alleviating the need to visit a dealership. However, Fabspeed recommends having the adaptation performed at a certified dealership for optimal results. If you need a recommendation for a dealership in your area, please contact us.
